Teresa Santoski wears enough writerly hats to fill a midsize coat rack. In addition to being an award-winning humorist and a devotional author, she is a freelance editor, working primarily in the Christian publishing industry.

Teresa previously spent ten years in the newspaper industry, most recently covering arts and entertainment for The Telegraph, the second largest newspaper in the state of New Hampshire, and winning an industry award for her coverage. She feels honored to have gotten her start in journalism the old-fashioned way: writing obituaries on the night shift. Selected pieces from her journalism career can be read here and here.

Teresa continues to write her humor column, Tete-a-tete, on topics ranging from family battles over lawn ornaments to English words that have fallen out of use and really should make a comeback. Her thoughtful reflections on the mundane (and the not-so-mundane) coupled with her familial misadventures with Mom, Dad, Oldest Younger Brother, Youngest Brother, and Younger Sister have made Tete-a-tete a reader favorite since its debut in May 2008.

Tete-a-tete has garnered a newspaper industry award and an award from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists and won The Telegraph’s reader poll for favorite humor column. The column is published monthly in The Telegraph, which is itself published on Sundays.

A committed Christian and an enthusiast of East Asian pop culture, Teresa combined these passions to write Prayers for Oppa, a devotional prayer book for performers and their fans with a focus on the East Asian entertainment industry. Teresa is a graduate of Wellesley College and Liberty University, and her favorite authors include Terry Pratchett, C.S. Lewis, Diana Wynne Jones, and Louisa May Alcott. When she’s not writing or reading, Teresa enjoys dining out with friends, exploring museums and historical sites, and watching suspenseful British TV series, really bad B movies, and football.

She resides in New Hampshire, the home of the world’s largest wooden barrel.
